New year, new start

Happy New Year, the 2011 golf season can't come quick enough. Finally the snow has gone (for now) and golfers everywhere are rushing back to the course to try out their new tips and practiced routines (maybe that's just me ha ha). Well I for one am really looking forward to a number of things this coming season,
  • Getting properly fitted for a new set of irons as my Ping G10's, although great irons,  just don't seem to fit well since adopting my new swing, plus I managed to have a trial with some semi blade irons and they felt really nice with much more control.
  • I am currently on the waiting list for a place in the William Hunt Trilby Tour williamhunttrilbytour which is the best amateur national golf tournament in the UK so fingers and toes crossed.
  • Don and DJ Trahan (my mentors) have created a new web site swingsurgeon which is currently being designed to improve on the old site and give its members a whole new golf learning experience, I can't wait to see what's in store. (From my previous blog posts you may have heard me mention PPGS, hard not to really ha ha, well Don Trahan (The Swing Surgeon) had some conflicts of interests with his partners at the old site and therefore parted company and created the swing surgeon website. I have always had the sense to stick with something/someone that is good for me so in Don I trust).
  • The chance to play a full season at my club Priors Hall as I joined last season in June and missed out on 4 months worth of great tournaments (this affected my order of merit chances).
  • Documenting my 2011 season progress on this blog and adding much more interesting bits and pieces to hopefully attract like minded golfers and swing surgeon students from the UK and all over the world.
Recently I received a great comment from an avid golfer and swing surgeon student (Bob MacLean). He mentioned something which I have been attempting to do via this or the swing surgeon blog and that is to maybe create a group/society of UK surge students that could meet up for a round or a range session where we could all compare stories and maybe help each other to reach our targets using Dons swing methods. Hopefully if I receive enough feedback/interest we could arrange something in the future.
Please feel free to comment with any suggestions or just to talk golf, and remember,
IN DON TRAHAN WE TRUST http://swingsurgeon.com

ps. check out The Golf State of Mind its really interesting and well worth it (it has given me a whole new approach to the mental side of the game, I will talk more about in my next post, http://www.golfstateofmind.com
